Should You Be Reading This Blog?

I believe with all my heart that you should make art. I believe you should do it for no good reason, just because it’s fun. I am not super interested in what happens to art after it gets made. I am not uninterested in that, but blog wise, I am going to be writing mostly about making it, not dealing with it after the fact. If that interests you, you are in the right place. Welcome. I would love to see some of your art.

I started here in 2014 with a post called: My Existential Angst is Based on Longevity and Therefore Bullshit. Nice title. I like that type of title and if you are here, maybe you do to. Like so many creative projects, I didn’t know what I wanted to accomplish, I just had an itch to try writing. I didn’t know what stuff was going to get typed out, how could I, it wasn’t written. Over a hundred posts later, I’m starting to see the trends; I really suffer from clutter, my husband keeps me laughing and I love talking about making art. I also love just the making of it, but I really, really like talking about making it. If you know me personally, you know this is true. I talk about it all the time. Maybe too much. Perhaps I am doing some of it over here so I don’t tire people out. But more than that, I want to nail down what I believe in the written word. I want to see if I can translate that elusive passion into something as specific as language. I don’t know if I can. That’s what makes it fun.

Thanks for reading. Let me know if you have a question for me.

And in case it isn’t obvious, I made all the sidewalk faces featured here.
